Accordin= g to Article 5 of the Provisions on the Environmental Management of New Chemical Substances (SEPA Decree, No. 1= 7) released by SEPA on September 12, 2003, in order to ensure that the registr= ation of new chemical substances is scientific, fair and impartial, SEPA has prop= osed the Expert Committee on Evaluation of New Chemical Substances with candidate members recommended by relevant work units, and decides to select X (No.) experts including XXX who’re specialized in chemistry, toxicology, environmental science, and safety evaluation of chemicals, to be members of= the First Expert Committee. Their term of the office is three years (see the Attachment).

To evalu= ate the new chemical substances to be registered, SEPA shall, according to the properties of the evaluated substance, choose some experts from the Expert Committee in line with their specialties in order to set up an Expert Group, who shall evaluate the new chemical substance being declared. The evaluation results shall be one of the important bases to decide whether the substance= is to be registered.

SEPA sha= ll include the information about the first group of experts in the database of evaluat= ion experts on new chemical substances, and manage this information dynamically= . Work of the experts involved in the evaluation, their evaluation levels and conf= identiality shall be recorded in the database.
